Could Your Perfume Be Ageing You?

potions, lotions, make-up and clothes all help us look younger
but did you know that perfume can take years off you?
here's the science to prove it ~
Are you the type who automatically categorises a scent by age bracket, like "granny","mumsy","girly", or "baby" ? You are not alone !!
according to a recent study on the effects aroma has on our perception on age, certain smells can have a radical influence on a person's judgement.
how we decide a person's age is more of a general feeling based on a combination of things.
some things are obvious, such as how a person speaks, walks and dresses, but there're also the "subliminal indicators", which take into account how people smell.
its a bit like how we sniff leftovers i the fridge to determine whether or not they're still safe to eat .
"the people smelling pink grapfruit reduced the one's real ages by an average of six years "
so pink grapefruit is a kind of olfactory cosmetic surgery.
the reason for the change in perception isnt clear.
some experts think the smell of pink grapefruit is so stimulating that it triggers a positive mindest.
another possibility is that the smell of grapefruit affects the parietal lobe----
a part of the brain that helps us gauge things such as size, spatial awareness and the aesthetics of age.
but the bottom line is, if you want to appear younger to others, wear a perfume with pink grapefruit in it !!
"Think about the effect of someone peeling an orange in a stuffy train carriage... it instantly RECHARGE THE AIR !! "
